|Coach Maureen comes to TWST recently from the Big Island of Hawaii where she coached for Kamehameha High School and Warrior Aquatic Club mentored by Head Coach, Dan Lyons . She coaches the Nemos, Shark Tales, Hogwarts and Goonies Developmental Groups as well as teaches in the Pre-TWST swim lesson program. Mother of 5 and grandmother of 3, Coach Maureen believes that the development of a swimmer's life skills, such as work ethic, character, integrity, service to others, discipline, and resilience are by far the most valuable lessons taken from the sport of swimming. Due to several relocations, Coach Maureen and her family have been blessed with the experience of swimming in 5 LSC's, learning different perspectives and being inspired in and out of the water by many wonderful people. Coach Maureen taught all of her 5 children to swim. Some of their achievements include: 2 Time Texas TAGS Champion, Multiple TAGS Finalists, Sectional Qualifiers, National Qualifier, Hawaii State Swim Champion and Records Holder, Hawaii State High School Finalist and Water Polo State Championship team member. Coach Maureen has a special place in her heart for kids who "want to be swimmers".|
Coach Maureen has a degree in Forensics from Indiana University - Bloomington. She is also an attorney and a member of the Georgia Bar Association. At IU, she worked 3 summers as a Work-Study Student at Indiana University's Outdoor Pool where Olympians from all over the world would come to train.
